Folk Group “Wielkopolanie” has been working with the Teachers Training Center in Poznan for several years. Hence, once again, the 1st degree course of national dances and dances from our region had been held for teachers.

During the 20-hour course teachers were introduced and had the opportunity to learn basic steps and figures of Krakowiak, Kujawiak and Polonaise. They had also a chance to become acquainted with the culture of Greater Poland. Teachers very quickly and with great interest absorbed dances such as “Wiwat”, “Przodek” and others.

Apart from Greater Poland’s regional dances & national dances presentations of tournament pairs from Folk Group “Wielkopolanie” and Children Folkloric Group “Cepelia-Poznań” took place and introduced course participants to the now widespread in almost all of Poland trend of Polish dances in a ballroom form.

The course lecturers were: Mrs. Jadwiga Banaś and Mr. Piotr Kulka, and it was accompanied by Mrs. Barbara Florek.

Due to high interest in the 1st degree course in May another one will be held, and from the  next year Teachers Training Center and Folk Group “Wielkopolanie” will be inviting to the 2nd degree course.
