School concerts are the idea on enabling contact with the culture and the arts to young and the youngest audience. For many years “Wielkopolanie” have gone on tours to educate and transfer to children and young people the value of Polish culture, especially dance and folk music. These concerts are a supplement to school programs related to widely understood culture.
Folkloristic group „Wielkopolanie” from October to mid-January worked with Pro Sinfonika – youth movement enthusiasts of art and culture in Poznań.

Within the confines of this cooperation they presented in 80 schools throughout Wielkopolska region. During the two concert tours:

– TANIEC W PERUCE I KRYNOLINIE – JAK SIĘ DO TEGO ZABRAĆ?

Polish dancers team presented the national dances and old dances, the past ages.

During the first tour, children and young people in Great Poland were able to learn about the history, costume and steps of the polonaise, the mazur, the kujawiak, the oberek and the krakowiak. Polish national dances, part of the intangible culture, have played a very important role in the history of our nation. Derived from regional, native dances, spread on Polish territory and were considered as belonging to the whole nation. The first mention of them were made in medieval documents. The krakowiak was already known at the court of King Władysław Jagiełło, in the XIV century, and in the following centuries won extraordinary popularity among the Polish nobility. Other Polish dances (polonaise, mazurka, kujawiak, oberek) passed a similar way and have been an integral part of Polish culture.

 During the second tour, “Wielkopolanie” presented dances of the Renaissance, Baroque and early XIX century. The artists from Poznań showed, the gathered children and young people, the way people enjoyed themselves on the courts and castles in France, Burgundy, England, Italy and Poland.
During this tour, young viewers had the opportunity to see, among others, the pawan, the galliard, the minuet, the polonaise, the polka galopka and many others. All concerts were highly appreciated by the spectators. More than 6,000 people were able to admire the artistry of dancers from Wielkopolska region, who implement new forms of education and formed the music and dance imagination through the national and old dances.
