From March 17 over the whole weekend in Nietążkowo city, mor e than 50 folk dancers of Wielkopolanie Folk Group have perfected their dancing and singing skills in preparation for upcoming artistic season.  Despite very tense two-month schedule of educational concerts during which Wielkopolanie give over 100 performances in Wielkopolska and Silesia region educational centers they found time for a weekend training.  Two artistic groups took part in this event. The main group and students group- from Adam Mickiewicz University of Poznań. Each of them participated in vocal improving training thanks to Mrs. Teresa Kaczmarek- the voice emission specialist. After practicing songs and dances from Wielkopolska, Rzeszów, Spisz regions  dancers had opportunity to learn Argentinian tango. First steps and figures were taught by outstanding tango teachers- Iwona Kaczmarek and Kamil Baczyński. Iwona is an Animator and Argentinian tango dancer in Poznań. She graduated the Academy of Music in Poznań and Łódź, specializing in rythmics, choreograpghy and and dance techniques. Many years of pedagogical experience allowed her to create her own dancing school- “Tango La Vida”. Kamil has graduated Architecture at the Poznań University of Technology and daily he is working as photographer and graphic designer. With love and passion for tango he organizes regular milongas, workshop and courses. Currently he assists at Tango La Vida dance school together with Iwona  Kaczmarek.

Tango is emotions, contact and romance between dancers on a dancefloor which combined with technique create an unusual, unique integrity. During the workshops Ms. Iwona focused on the elements of three different tango types: salon  tango, waltz and milonga. Each of them was characterized by different settlement in music, specific steps and albes. Among other dance techniques both from the Americas and European tango are distinguished by the wealth of steps and complexity. It is a dance for the ambitious people and make a huge challenge that brought satisfaction and joy to dancers form Wielkopolanie group.

Despite weekend full of hard work dancers didn’t have time to rest.  On Monday they went to next educational tours around Wielkopolska to show and popularize the beauty of folk culture.
