Workshops of the older group of "Wielkopolanie"

On the last weekend of March, the dancers of the older group of “Wielkopolanie” went to an intensive training camp in the picturesque Nietążkowo. The aim of this trip was to improve their dancing skills and explore the musical and dance traditions of the Wielkopolska, Cieszyn and Rzeszów regions. For three days, the centre was filled with the sounds of melodies, songs and rhythms characteristic of these regions, which will soon be presented to the general public during numerous concerts planned for the coming year. Over thirty dancers, full of passion and commitment, eagerly learned the next figures, steps and chants related to traditions.
The group of older dancers, including both former dancers of folklore groups – mainly “Wielkopolanie”, as well as people who are just starting their adventure with folklore, has been cultivating the traditions of various regions of Poland for years. The group’s repertoire has already included dances from Wielkopolska, Lublin and Kraków, but this time it was time to discover the richness of folklore of the Cieszyn and Rzeszów regions. Thanks to the many years of experience of the instructors and the enthusiasm of the participants, it was possible to create a unique program that is to delight the audience during future performances.
The training camp in Nietążkowo was not only an opportunity to learn dance and music. It was also a time for integration, exchange of experiences and building bonds among the members of the group. Evening meetings, joint singing and conversations helped to create an atmosphere full of friendship and a common pursuit of artistic perfection.
The artists of Folk Group “Wielkopolanie” are preparing with great care for the upcoming concerts, which will certainly not only be a display of talent and skills, but also a beautiful journey into the past, which, thanks to the group, remains alive and inspiring.
