Workshops for international students of the ERASMUS+ program at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań
November ended with another dance and educational success for the “Wielkopolanie” Folkloristic Group. Thanks to their long-standing collaboration with the ESN UAM Poznań Association, concerts were once again held in conjunction with workshops for international students of the ERASMUS+ program at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.
During the concerts, students from around the world had the opportunity to experience Polish national dances: the polonaise, mazur, krakowiak, kujawiak, and oberek. During specially prepared workshops, participants took their first steps in the rhythms of these magnificent dances and also learned about national culture, such as a detailed description of Polish folk costumes and traditions. Among the dancers’ performances and dance lessons, there was also time to learn more about the culture of the region the students had chosen to visit. In addition to proud and wonderful Polish national dances, the audience also enjoyed games and activities from the Wielkopolska region, such as the “brzuchaty”, “dupnik”, “ceglorz” and “szmyt”.
The idea behind these concerts and workshops is to spread Polish culture among various nations around the world, with a particular emphasis on traditions, dance, and folk music. Furthermore, the event kicked off a welcome week for international students at Adam Mickiewicz University, showcasing what young people will have the opportunity to experience during their stay in Poland.
