“Folklore of Lublin region and rhythmics.” Over 50 instructors, choreographers and enthusiasts from all over Poland deepened their regional knowledge as well as in the field of rhythmics at the Greater Poland Local Government Center for Vocational and Continuing Education in Gniezno.

Classes on Lublin folklore were conducted by Ernest Szymański – choreographer, deputy director of Lublin Song and Dance Ensemble of Wanda Kaniorowa. He completed the Instructor Qualification Course at the Institute of Culture of and Art in Warsaw with excellent grades, obtaining a diploma as a dance instructor, specializing in folk dance. He conducted folk dance workshops in, among others, China, France, Paraguay, Mexico and Argentina.

Rhythmics classes were conducted by Marlena Pietrzak-Burandt – a graduate of the Academy of Music of I. J. Paderewski in Poznań, specializing in rhythmics. She works at the Poznań Secondary Music School as a teacher of rhythm, movement techniques and methodology. Author of many music choreographies shown in Poland and abroad. Over 20 hours of classes allowed participants not only to explore the secrets of dance, but also to learn about the traditions of costumes, customs and rituals of Lublin, recognize rhythm and melody, and react to changes in tempo, dynamics and pitch of sounds.

The workshops are also an opportunity to meet, exchange experiences, and learn how cultural and educational centers operate throughout Poland. It is also about establishing contacts and supporting each other in our activities for traditional culture.
