"Wielkopolanie" on their wedding carpet

On July 8, 2023, on the wedding carpet, stood the dancers of the Folklore Ensemble “Wielkopolanie,” Katarzyna Kraszewska, and Karol Białecki. The wedding ceremony took place at the Civil Registry Office in Siedlce, and later at the Garrison Church under the patronage of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. The Holy Mass was attended by the dancers of the Folklore Ensemble “Wielkopolanie,” dressed in Krakow costumes, as well as the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Siedlce Region “Chodowiacy,” presenting Podlasie costumes.

After the Mass, jubilant guests awaited the newlyweds outside the church, and the couple enjoyed numerous folk songs performed by the dancers and teachers from the Tradition Forge.

Katarzyna and Karol joined the Folklore Ensemble “Wielkopolanie” in 2018, while Karol began his adventure with dance in 2012 in the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Siedlce Region “Chodowiacy.”

The year 2023 is special for Katarzyna and Karol. Just under a month before their wedding, together with part of the ensemble, they traveled to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, to perform at the “Asia Folk 2023” folklore and handicraft festival, which took place from June 15 to 20. Subsequently, they both defended their master’s degrees at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań – Katarzyna obtained a Master’s degree in psychology, and Karol became a Master of Law.
