WIELKOPOLANIE COOPERATE WITH...
The Folk Group Wielkopolanie cooperate with The Centre of Culture and Art in Konin for many years. Within the framework of this cooperation the management of the group visited the Centre for many times, taking part in trainings conducted for teachers and instructors of dance or sitting on jury during many parades.
On 24th of November 2012 the Folk Group Wielkopolanie conducted the training of kids folk of Wielkopolska for the pre-school education teachers, early school teachers and dance instructors.
The workshop was conducted by Piotr Kulka, the author of the book “THE CHOSEN DANCES AND GAMES OF WIELKOPOLSKA FOLK”. On the basis of this publication the participants of the meeting adopted theoretical and practical content of the subject. It was a lot of work.
The dance folk in Wielkopolska marks big regional, subregional and even local variety, characterizes itself with the wealth of music-dance forms, inconstancy of metre and even tempo within one dance. The activities started with the elementary steps of polka and walcerek dances, later the participants focused on such games and dances as: Marynia, Brzuchaty, Tolija, Ceglorz or Szewc.
During the training participants discussed the subregional dresses of Bambry Poznańskie, Szamotuły, Old countries of Poznań, West Wielkopolska and Biskupin which were presented live by the young dancers of Folk Group Wielkopolanie. The four hour training proved itself insufficient for exploring all dance forms of Wielkopolska folk what generated the idea of next edition of the workshop.
Taking into account the great interest in the training the Centre of Culture and Art will repeat on 2nd of February 2013 the first edition of the training for people who applied for the training and were refused because of the limited number of participants.
Wielkopolanie invites everybody to familiarize itself with the offer of The Centra of Culture and Art in Konin on the website: http://www.ckis.konin.pl/
