VX ESTER FAIR WITH WIELKOPOLANIE
Easter fair took place from 28th to 29th of march 2015 in National Agriculture, Rural and Comestible-Industry Museum in Szreniawa city.
It makes to old fairs and market tradition which held in small towns and villages just before important religious holiday.
These fairs were great opportunity to buy different goods but also for social meetings. This year folkloristic ensemble Wielkopolanie prepared special program which alluded to Easter Holiday. Performance faced stupendous applause from uncountable audience.
Artist presented old custom of toddling around with bosket ( for young single girls) or with a cock ( for single men ). They walked through whole village collecting gifts from landlords and they were singing traditional songs , dancing and playing joyfully with each other. On stage there was also shown a tradition of pouring water on each other called “Śmingus- Dyngus” . Furthermore folk ensemble Wielkopolanie presented folklore from Wielkopolska, Beskid Śląski, Rzeszów, Kraków Wschodni regions.
For the first time Wielkopolanie played with newcome children. Thanks to folklore expert Piotr Kulka children had an opportunity to learn old Polish games such as Chusteczkowy, Szewc, Tolija and Ceglorz. All participants received a precious gift for taking a part which were poster cards with pictures of our dancers sponsored by MDM Druk company.
As every year visitors of Museum had an unusual opportunity to look on traditional craftsmen making their their handicrafts and occasionally buy them. Food lovers could try delicious diets made from past recipes.
The supporters of present food could also find something for them thanks to numerous gastronomic stalls.
