TRAINING CAMP – OBRZYCKO 2010
Days 26-28 of February the Folk Group Wielkopolanie spent in the House of Creative Work and Rest of Adam Mickiewicz University in Obrzycko in frames of agreement signed last year by University and Public Library and Culture Animation Centre. The Group went to Obrzycko for training camp to improve their dancing and vocal skills.
It was a three days of hard work and efforts. During the all-day trainings fifty dancers of the group improved their dancing techniques and also worked over the repertoire which will be presented in the 2010.
In the arrangements they worked hard over there were dances from east Krakow, Rzeszów dances, dances from the parts of Krobia and Domachow, Dances from Górny Śląsk and national dances like Krakowiak, Kujawiak and Oberek. To Obrzycko, together with management, dancers and the music band there went also the students of Adam Mickiewicz University that started the adventure with the Folk Group this year. Participation in the camp was the occasion for them to learn about polish folk and national dances.
During the camp there was also time for integration and relaxation after long hours of hard trainings. In the evenings there was a big smile on the mouths of all dancers and endless singing and integration plays took part.
Already on the next day, despite the extremely hard-working weekend the Folk Group Wielkopolanie honoured the 200 anniversary of Fryderyk Chopin birthday taking part in the two concerts of “Chopin na pointach, obcasach i piętach” cycle.
