Tournament dancers training camp.

On February 15-16, more than 20 dancers of the Wielkopolanie Folklore Group participated in a training camp in the city of Żerków, voivodeship. Greaterpoland. These workshops were aimed at preparing the dancers for the next busy artistic season.

Polish Dance Tournaments in a social form is a unique form of promoting the national culture of our country. They have been organized since 1994 and since then they have managed to spread throughout Poland. Every year, about 20 tournaments take place, in which several thousand couples from our country take part. The couples compete in five Polish national dances, while dancing in formal dresses are evaluated by judges from the Polish Section of the CIOFF.

Two very busy days for Wielkopolanie were a ticket to further dance development and thus to participate in Polish Dance Tournaments in 2020. Under the guidance of the group instructor Mr. Jan Galasiński, the dancers practiced the dance technique, teaming together and new dance figures. Especially for this occasion, Mr. Kamil Rząca, a Polish multiple master in Polish dances, and an instructor of the “Promyki” Folk Dance Group from Wieliszew, who supported the pairs of Wielkopolanie with workshops of other dance techniques and comments on effective pair dancing were also invited.

The weekend in Żerków, despite the fact that it was spent almost entirely on intensive work in gyms, brought a lot of joy to dancers of Wielkopolanie  and will allow them to continue to proudly represent the Group at Polish Tournaments of Polish Dance in Sociable Form.
