The "Master-Apprentice" program project is coming to an end!

The project “Rescue from Oblivion – Dance Culture of Poznań’s Old Villages” is coming to an end, and master Piotr Kulka and his student Filip Laskowski are completing their work on recreating the Easter custom of “gaika” among the youth of Greater Poland.

The November meetings were a time of work and preparation, during which the student was tasked with using the acquired knowledge and developing the Poznań custom of “gaika” with a selected group of dancers. This custom was also presented during educational meetings at Poznań cultural and educational centers. November was the month in which all the knowledge imparted by the master was reflected in the student’s work.

An additional element concluding the project was an exhibition of photos and videos from the project at the Provincial Public Library and the Cultural Animation Center in Poznań. The master and his student also had the opportunity to participate in recordings promoting the “Master-Student” program of the National Institute of Rural Culture and Heritage, during which the months-long work of all program participants was immortalized.

We invite you to view photos from the seventh stage of the project, as well as a short video summarizing the seventh month of work by the Master and Apprentice:

Completed as part of the “Master-Apprentice” scholarship program of the National Institute of Rural Culture and Heritage, funded by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.
