THE BLACK AND WHITE SAINT ANDNDREW EVE
Like every year, the dancers of the Folcloristic group “Wielkopolanie” spent the Saint Andrew Eve together with their family and friends. This time the party took place in club Angello.
The tradition of the Saint Andrew Eve probably dates back to pagan times. The first reference to divinations appeared in year 1555.
This special night has magical powers and the members of the group Wielkopolanie wanted to show their guests the magic during this year`s party, themed “black&white”.
All arrived guests wore black nad white clothing. We could see Marylin Monroe, a female British police officer, Charlie Chaplin, Pierrot and many more characters from movies and TV.
Although traditionally the Saint Andrew Eve was meant only for young girls, who tried to foretell when will they get married, nowadays also man and married women take part in the fortune telling.
Now almost everyone tries to find out they future.
The dancers have prepared not only divinations but also games, during which the guests could show off their physical and musical abilities. The winners got of course some small gifts.
During this years vote for the best costume won mister Dariusz, who was dressed as a priest.
There was no end to fortune telling, playing and dancing.
At the same time, when Wielkopolanie partied to the fullest, three pairs represented the Group during the first National Dances Tournament for “Silesia Diamond 2014” ( “Śląski Diament 2014”).
