Regional Dances Competition in Wronki
On December 7, 2024, dancers from Folk Group “Wielkopolanie” took part
in the regional dance tournament “Wielkopolski Bat” in Wronki.
This year’s edition took place in the Sports Hall of the School Complex No. 1. The entire dance tournament was full of emotions, the beauty of Polish folklore and the extraordinary energy of dance competitions. The event became a unique opportunity to celebrate Polish dance traditions and meet culture lovers from all over Wielkopolska.
During “Wielkopolski Bat”, as many as 62 couples competed on the dance floor in six age categories, presenting traditional dances of Szamotuły region such as Gołąbek, Marynia, Rajlender, Poniewierany, Przodek and Wiwat. Their performances were assessed by outstanding judges – experts in the field of dance and folklore. The “Wielkopolanie” dancers finished the competition with numerous outstanding achievements:
- 1st place Tymon W. and Maria K. in category IV,
- 1st place Miłosz T. and Helena M. in category III,
- 1st place Filip P. and Antonina Sz. in category I,
- 2nd place Spirka Bartłomiej and Kulka Zofia in category V,
- 2nd place Powroziewicz Daniel and Lorenz Oliwia in category VI,
- 3rd place Stanisław S. and Kinga O. in category IV,
- 4th place Tymon W. and Oliwia Cz. in category V,
- 6th place Adam K. and Gabriela K.
Semi-finals:
- Mortka Szymon and Majerowicz Zuzanna in category V,
- Tomasz B. and Zuzanna F. in category III,
- Zenon J. and Dominika D. in category II,
- Oliwier N. and Maria N. in category I.
The Folk Group “Wielkopolanie” also presented dances and songs from the area of Krobia and Domachów, accompanied by Greater Poland bagpipes and tied violins. The dances were warmly received by the audience and highlighted the richness of the Greater Poland folklore. During the afternoon finals, the audience could also admire the artistic performances of the Polish Dance Group “Wronki” and the DrajKA Band.
