Łowicz Cutouts

From February 7 to March 6, the dancers of the “Wielkopolanie” Folklore Group set off with Pro Sinfonka on another educational concert tour around the Wielkopolska educational and cultural institutions. On the stages of schools, kindergartens and nurseries with the sounds of live music, Poznań artists presented dances from the Lowicz region. During the concerts entitled ‘Cutouts from Łowicz’, they presented characteristic steps, figures and specially prepared choreographies of Księżaków dances to the large audience. During the February-March concert tour “Wielkopolanie” visited 112 centers of culture and education, presenting, among others in Baranów, Kórnik, Borówiec, Poznań and many, many other villages and cities of its province. All concerts were widely appreciated by the gathered viewers. Participants could admire the artistic craftsmanship of Greater Poland dancers, who through dance implement new educational forms and shape music and dance imagination. Participants of the concerts could not only listen to Polish women from Lowicz, oberek or “trzęsionka”, but also together with the dancers of “Wielkopolanie” to play and dance the klepok, which gave the children a lot of joy. Educational school concerts are an idea to enable contact with the culture and art of young and the youngest audience. “Wielkopolanie” have been going on concert tours for many years to bring up children and youth among the values of Polish culture, with particular emphasis on folk dance and music. These concerts are complementary to school programs related to broadly understood culture.
