EUROPEAN COUNTRIES TABLE

On April 25, 2019, at the invitation of the Marshal of the Wielkopolska Region, Marek Woźniak, on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of Poland’s accession to the European Union, a EUROPEAN COUNTRIES TABLE was organized – a JUBILEE MEETING OF EUROPEAN PARTNER REGIONS OF THE WIELKOPOLSKIE VOIVODSHIPS, n. “Europe of tomorrow – how to respond effectively to the challenges of modern Europe after 2020”.
         An honorary guest of the meeting who gave a speech on the subject of “Socio-economic aspects of Poland’s membership in the EU. Where is Europe located? “- was the first Polish commissioner of the European Union, Member of the European Parliament Ms. prof. dr hab. Danuta Hübner. The meeting was attended by the heads of the EU partner regions of the Wielkopolska Region, the Romanian Sibiu District and the Croatian Vukovar-Srijem County, and European ministers from the German federal states of Brandenburg, Hesse, Lower Saxony, the Italian Emilia-Romagna and the Dutch Province of North-Brabant.
       After noon, all guests were invited to the National Museum of Agriculture and Agricultural Industry in Szreniawa where rituals and the Wielkopolska tradition were presented to them. For foreign guests from the partner regions and from the consular and diplomatic corps there was a Folkloristic Group “Wielkopolanie”. The  Deputy Marshal of the Wielkopolska Province, Krzysztof Grabowski and Poznań artists dressed in Wielkopolska and Łowicz costumes, according to Polish tradition greeted guest with: bread, salt and song. After the grand opening and speech of the Deputy Marshals of the Wielkopolska Province: Krzysztof Grabowski and Wojciech Jankowiak, as well as the Director of the Museum of Agriculture Jan Maćkowiak, “Wielkopolanie” presented dances and songs of the native region; presenting the Biskupian folklore. There was also a common dance and games having their roots in the tradition of Wielkopolska. The participants of the meeting also had the opportunity to listen to traditional instruments such as Wielkopolska pipes and violin fiddles.
The Wielkopolska Culinary Heritage Network was also presented at the official meeting promoting national regional products.
