EthnoPoland 2021

On October 8, 2021, the Folkloristic Group “Wielkopolanie” completed the task “Purchase of regional costumes for ZF” Wielkopolanie “WBPiCAK under the EtnoPolska 2021 program.
As part of the project, the following were ordered and made: 4 sets of women’s Lachy Sądeckie costumes and 4 sets of male Lachy Sądeckie costumes as well as 10 sets of Cieszyn women’s costumes and 10 sets of Cieszyn male costumes.
The Lachowski women’s outfit includes: an embroidered shirt, an embroidered pink skirt, a textile bouquet, a corset. The male Lachowski costume includes: an embroidered shirt, an ax, a hat with flowers, a belt, an embroidered vest, and embroidered pants. The Cieszyn women’s outfit consists of: kabotek, embroidered dress, apron, cap, scarf, ribbon, belt, brooches and hooks. The Cieszyn men’s outfit consists of: a shirt, trousers, a jacket, a vest, a scarf and a hat.
The costumes purchased as part of the project are based on traditional folk costumes from both regions. It was created on the basis of consultations with experts, ethnographers and regionalists with whom they cooperated during the entire project. They were made of original materials by specialized artists, which was important to emphasize the regional tradition.
All the costumes are currently at the headquarters of the Provincial Public Library and Cultural Animation Center in Poznań at 3 Prusa Street. They will be used by over 100 dancers and musicians of the Folklore Group “Wielkopolanie”, including young people and seniors aged 16-65 in order to popularize and cultivate two regions of Poland in the country and abroad. They will also contribute to the involvement of dancers in activities related to the cultivation of regional traditions and customs, which will enable the preparation of further points for the artistic presentations of the Group in order to protect the local heritage, as well as enable them to participate in Polish culture.
At the end of the project, a lecture was held at the headquarters of the Provincial Public Library and the Center for Culture Animation in Poznań, together with the presentation of all the costumes that, thanks to a grant from the Ministry of Culture, National Heritage and Sport, were acquired by “Wielkopolanie” in 2021.
