In January, the “Wielkopolanie” Folk Group held a series of educational concerts dedicated to the unique cultural heritage of Bambry from Poznań. These events took place in cultural and educational centers, generating significant interest from children, youth, and adults alike.

The concert program covered a wide range of topics related to the costume, dance, and music of Bambry – a group of settlers who have become a permanent part of the history and identity of the Wielkopolska region. In an accessible and engaging way, the ensemble introduced listeners to the distinctive elements of the costume, highlighting its symbolism, rich ornamentation, and the significance of individual garments.

Another important element of the concerts was the presentation of traditional dances and melodies that have accompanied the Bambry for generations in their daily lives and during family and religious celebrations. “Wielkopolanie” performances combined artistic demonstrations with educational commentary, allowing the audience to not only admire the artistry of the performers but also better understand the historical and cultural context of the traditions presented.

The group’s January tour took them to Poznań, Owińska, Przeźmierowo, and Zalasewo, among other places, visiting local community centers and educational institutions. Each event provided a valuable lesson in regionalism and living traditions, emphasizing the importance of preserving local cultural heritage.

The concerts were made possible thanks to the collaboration with the Tutti Art Katarzyna Wieczorek Art Agency, which supported the organization of the events and contributed to their high artistic and substantive standards.

The educational concerts of “Wielkopolanie” once again confirmed that folklore – presented in a modern, engaging format – can be an inspiring tool for education and building cultural awareness.
