A Christmas Eve gathering of artists from the “Wielkopolanie” Folk Ensemble took place in a warm, pre-Christmas atmosphere. It was a unique event that brought together five groups: three children’s groups, the core group, and senior dancers. This Christmas Eve celebration provided an opportunity for all generations of artists to connect and reflect on an intense and eventful year.

The gathering began with a warm welcome from the ensemble’s director, Piotr Kulka. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of community, tradition, and commitment, which have been the foundation of “Wielkopolanie” for years. A special moment was the review of 2025 – an exceptionally busy and successful year for the ensemble. As the director noted, in the past twelve months, “Wielkopolanie” has performed 325 times, promoting the region’s folklore and sharing its culture with audiences both in Poland and abroad.

A special moment of the meeting was the presentation of the title of “Member of the Year” which is awarded annually by the core group. This year’s honor went to Zofia Kulka, a person of particular merit to the group, valued for her commitment, community service, and cultivating folkloric values. This honor was met with warm applause and expressions of appreciation from all present.

The Christmas Eve gathering was not only a time for reflection on achievements but also a moment of joy, singing carols together, and exchanging holiday wishes. Younger and older members of the group sat at the same table, emphasizing the continuity of tradition and the strength of intergenerational cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, a pleasant surprise awaited everyone – the Christmas Eve guest, who, in keeping with Wielkopolska tradition, presented gifts, especially to the youngest, brought many smiles and joy. This event created a truly festive atmosphere and was a beautiful culmination of the Christmas Eve celebration.

This unique event once again demonstrated that the “Wielkopolanie” Folk Group is not only an artistic group, but also a close-knit community united by a passion for dance, music, and Greater Poland folklore.
