Childrens group workshop

From March 17-19, 2023, over forty dancers and musicians of the “Wielkopolanie” children’s group participated in training workshops in regional and national culture in Nietążkowo. For three days, under the guidance of music and dance instructors, young dancers perfected singing, steps and figures of Orava and Żywiec dances. They also had the opportunity to get acquainted with and play shepherd’s instruments: ocarinas, and flutes, which were included in the repertoire of the third group of the ensemble. Regional dances are not the only topic of this year’s spring workshops. The dancers of the Children’s Folklore Group “Wielkopolanie” also perfected tournament dances, steps and pair forms used in the Polish movement of the National Polish Dance Tournaments in a social form. Under the supervision of invited instructors Zofia Moździerz from Malbork and Kajetan Teperek from Warsaw, children’s couples improved their skills in krakowiak, oberek and polka. In addition to dance and music classes, the training participants had the opportunity to make glycerin soaps, play board games, and play integration games on the pitch.

Games, plays, and national and regional folklore practised from early morning until late at night gave the dancers much joy and motivated them to continue working to spread Polish culture in the country and abroad.
