Busy, educational March of Folk Group "Wielkopolanie"

In March, the artists of “Wielkopolanie” went on three educational tours promoting national culture and the culture of Łowicz and Poznań regions in the cultural and educational centers of Wielkopolska. By presenting their artistic skills in 119 institutions, they proved that the educational concerts they organize are an extremely valuable form of artistic activities that allow young recipients to have contact with live music, singing, dancing, customs and rituals. The programs prepared by the group are adapted to the age and perceptive abilities of children and youth. In kindergartens, the concerts take the form of a colorful show, during which children can not only listen to music and watch the artists’ performances, but also actively participate in rhythmic games and simple dance arrangements. This form of activities helps develop imagination, a sense of rhythm and the ability to work in a group. In primary and secondary schools, the concerts have a slightly more extensive historical and educational character.
For “Wielkopolanie”, educational concerts are an important element of the mission of promoting folk culture. By organizing regular meetings with children and young people, the members of the group try to instill in them a love of tradition and show that folk dances and music can still be a source of joy and inspiration. These meetings are often interactive, which makes children eager to engage in the proposed activities and absorb new information with greater interest.
Music and dance education conducted by Folk Group “Wielkopolanie” is also an opportunity to promote values such as respect for tradition, a sense of belonging to a community and openness to cultural diversity. Concerts are an opportunity to discover the richness of Polish folk music and understand how important a role it played in the everyday life of past generations. Thanks to this, children and young people can better understand their roots and find inspiration for creative artistic activities.
In its educational activities, “Wielkopolanie” shows that traditional music and dance can be attractive to contemporary recipients, regardless of age. Regularly organizing concerts in schools and kindergartens, about 300 per year, is not only a way to popularize folk culture, but also an important element in building the cultural identity of the young generation. It is worth supporting and developing such initiatives, because they contribute to preserving and promoting the richness of Polish musical and dance tradition.
