On December 17th 2025, at the Wielkopolska Voivodeship Office in Poznań, with the participation of Voivode Agata Sobczyk, Deputy Voivode Karolina Fabiś-Szulc, Deputy Voivode Jarosław Maciejewski, and Director General Jacek Wiśniewski, traditional Christmas carols and pastorals performed by the “Wielkopolanie” Folklore Ensemble resounded.

The event, organized in a pre-Christmas atmosphere, brought together office staff and invited guests.

The concert provided a unique opportunity to experience the region’s living traditions. Known for its commitment to authenticity and high artistic standards, the “Wielkopolanie” ensemble presented a rich program based on Wielkopolska carols and pastorals, both widely known and less frequently performed.

The audience could hear, among other things, classic carols in folk arrangements, as well as humorous and warm pastorals, telling the story of the birth of Christ in the realities of everyday rural life. Interspersed throughout were short commentaries explaining the origins of the songs and the Christmas customs of ancient Greater Poland.

The concert at the Greater Poland Voivodeship Office became not only an artistic event but also an important element in cultivating the region’s cultural heritage. Listening to carols together within the office’s walls emphasized the communal dimension of the holidays and the importance of tradition in public life.

The performance by the “Wielkopolanie” Folk Ensemble was met with thunderous applause and a warm welcome, and for many attendees, it provided a beautiful introduction to the upcoming Christmas season.
