180 hearts on one stage – the "Heart for Heart" concert in Poznań!
In an atmosphere of emotion, joy, and true solidarity, the “Heart for Heart” charity concert, organized by Folk Group “Wielkopolanie” of the Provincial Public Library and the Cultural Animation Center in Poznań, took place to benefit the Specialized Mother and Child Health Care Center in Poznań. The event brought together numerous Poznań residents, folklore enthusiasts, and all those who share the idea of helping the youngest patients and their families.
The “Heart for Heart” concert is part of the nationwide “Heart Bands” concert series, held in various Polish cities under the auspices of the Polish Section of CIOFF – the International Council of Folklore Associations, Festivals, and Folk Art. This initiative connects folklore communities with charitable activities, demonstrating that folk culture can be not only a way to preserve tradition but also an effective tool for providing aid to those in need.
The concert, organized by “Wielkopolanie” at the initiative of Zofia Kulka, was a unique combination of folk culture and charitable work. Artists from Folk Group “Wielkopolanie” presented a rich repertoire of regional songs and dances, reminding the audience of the beauty of Greater Poland tradition and the strength of community. Over 180 people representing the ensemble’s five age groups participated in the program – from the youngest folklore practitioners to experienced dancers and musicians. This intergenerational collaboration gave the concert a unique character and demonstrated that a passion for tradition can unite people of all ages.
The concert program included both spectacular dance etudes and presentations of folklore from seven Polish regions. The audience admired the diversity of Polish folk culture – from dynamic dances to regional songs and choreographies inspired by traditions from various parts of the country. The colorful costumes, lively choreography, and the performers’ genuine energy earned the audience numerous thunderous applauses.
The primary goal of the event was to support the Specialized Mother and Child Healthcare Center in Poznań – a facility that daily provides care to children and women requiring specialized treatment and medical support. Proceeds from the concert will be donated to the hospital, including the purchase of medical equipment and improving treatment conditions for the youngest patients.
The organizers emphasized that the “Heart for Heart” concert had not only an artistic dimension, but above all a social one. It was an expression of empathy and responsibility for those who particularly need help. Thanks to the commitment of artists, volunteers, sponsors, and participants, the event created a space full of kindness and mutual support. The concert was also supported by numerous sponsors and partners who, through their actions and financial and organizational commitment, contributed to helping those most in need. Their support demonstrated the immense power of local community collaboration in achieving noble goals.
The audience left the concert hall feeling as if they had participated in something special – an event that demonstrated that music can unite people and truly transform reality. The “Heart for Heart” concert demonstrated the immense power of tradition and culture, especially when they serve a noble cause.
The organizers are already announcing further charitable initiatives, counting on the continued support of local residents and all the band’s friends. Because when hearts beat together, help becomes truly powerful.
